3D Scanner

We wanted to be able to scan arbitrary 3D objects in full using a sharp IR sensor. In order to achieve this, we designed a turntable to rotate the object around. We calibrated a motor to achieve one rotation 30 increments, and then calibrated our IR sensor to read in millimeters. Our IR sensor could scan up and down, and would take several passes at the object in order to achieve a consistent result. 

We used an Arduino to control the scanner, and visualized the data in Matlab.
