ModulAir: Aerodyne Research
Render of Final Design
We designed a battery-powered device with an easily swappable battery that utilized spring pin connectors to make reliable electrical connections with an easy to use mechanical interface. The device primarily measures the levels of various gasses such as CO2 and O2. An optional module connects onto the back, which houses the Optical Particle Counter for more information about the air quality.
Many health problems, over the last two centuries, have been observed to be linked to air quality. Unfortunately, it isn't easy to log data about the air quality of a region easily. As the lead Mechanical Engineer for Aerodyne Research's project ModulAir, I designed and manufactured a compact, modular air quality sensor casing that was more portable and more efficient than the previous one.
